Uninstalling Olympus-Grid
This guide provides a step-by-step process to safely uninstall Olympus-Grid from your Salesforce environment. Follow these steps to ensure all components are properly deactivated and removed without impacting your org's functionality.
1. Deactivate All Flows from the Package
Flows related to Olympus-Grid must be deactivated before uninstalling the package.
Steps:
Navigate to Setup → Flows.
Identify all flows related to Olympus-Grid.
For each flow:
Click the flow name.
Click Deactivate in the flow details.
Tip: Use the package documentation or metadata to identify which flows were installed with Olympus-Grid.
2. Remove the Permission Set from the Site Guest User
The Site Guest User may have been assigned permission sets specific to Olympus-Grid. These must be removed.
Steps:
Go to Setup → Sites.
Find the site associated with Olympus-Grid.
Click View Users next to the site name.
Select the Site Guest User.
Scroll to the Permission Sets Assigned section.
Click Edit Assignments.
Uncheck or remove the permission set(s) related to Olympus-Grid.
Save the changes.
3. Remove the PortalVF Page from the Site Setup
The PortalVF page might have been used by Olympus-Grid and should be removed from the site configuration.
Steps:
Navigate to Setup → Sites.
Locate the site associated with Olympus-Grid and click its name.
Scroll to the Site Visualforce Pages section.
Check for the presence of a page named
PortalVF
or similar.If found, edit the settings and remove
PortalVF
from the list.Save the changes.
4. Remove the Portal Site URL Rewriter from the Site Setup
If Olympus-Grid included a Site URL Rewriter, this must be removed to prevent errors or unwanted routing behavior.
Steps:
Go to Setup → Sites.
Click the name of the site associated with Olympus-Grid.
Scroll to the URL Rewriter Class field (under Site Settings).
Check if a URL Rewriter (e.g.,
PortalSiteRewriter
) is assigned.If assigned, set the URL Rewriter field to None or clear the value.
Save the changes.
5. Uninstall the Managed Package
Once all components have been deactivated or removed, uninstall the Olympus-Grid managed package.
Steps:
Navigate to Setup → Installed Packages.
Locate Olympus-Grid in the list of installed packages.
Click Uninstall next to the package.
Follow the prompts to confirm the uninstallation.
Optionally, choose to delete all data associated with the package.
Note: Ensure you have a backup of any critical data before uninstalling the package.
6. Verify Cleanup
After uninstalling the package, perform the following checks to ensure complete removal:
Flows: Confirm all flows related to Olympus-Grid are deactivated or deleted.
Permission Sets: Verify no remaining permission sets are assigned to users or profiles.
Visualforce Pages: Ensure the
PortalVF
page is no longer referenced in your site setup.URL Rewriter: Confirm the URL rewriter field is cleared in the site settings.
Custom Metadata and Settings: Check for any custom metadata, settings, or data records installed by the package that may require manual cleanup.
Additional Notes
Backup: Before starting the uninstallation process, create a full backup of your org’s data and metadata.
Dependencies: If other integrations or customizations rely on Olympus-Grid, update or remove those dependencies before uninstalling.
Support: If you encounter issues during the uninstallation process, consult the Olympus-Grid support team or Salesforce support for assistance.
